Our Policies

Whakatū Arts and Action is created by community, with community, for community.

With progressive values we are builiding a shared space to support creativity and strengthen community

1. We are Tangata tiriti that stand in active solidarity with struggles against oppression.

2. Voting members make decisions quickly by considering evidence and prioritising community cohesion over individual preference. When conflict arises, we slow down and listen.

3. We’re transparent about money. Significant spending decisions are made together.

4. We choose events and partnerships that align with our values and benefit the broader community.

5. We share the tasks of leadership, caring for the space, and contributing ideas. Everyone’s input is valued and everyone’s voice matters.

6. This is just the beginning. We will keep adapting as we learn.
